Want to Know a Secret?

mystery - the secret counsel of the King; a truth that cannot be discerned by our physical senses - only known by the revelation of God (Taken from some of my notes from a meeting with Robert Heidler from a couple of years ago.)

Did you know that God reveals His secrets to those who seek Him?

Daniel 2:22 "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him."

Matthew 13:11 "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted."

James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Psalm 25:14 "The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him."

I Corinthians 4:1 "Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God."

Let us draw closer to the heart of God in prayer and praise so that we will begin to hear and know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven!

Since I missed our chat yesterday, I thought I'd share a little to let know you what's going on with me. :) I am at a place, where I think some of you are as well. We know God has called us, but what's next?  What is the next step?  And is it time yet?  And what is it exactly that I am supposed to do?  (I know I'm not going to get that answered! haha....not EXACTLY, anyway!)  I hate being so analytical and always trying to figure everything out.  (Did I just read a book with a chapter on TRUST?  And CONTROL?)

I feel I am at a critical time in my life (or maybe it's midlife crisis haha)....but I feel that I need some divine direction in order to move forward with the things that God has called me to do.  We have had some obstacles recently that would want us to put our eyes on our circumstances, but I refuse.  I know that God is working behind the scenes and I choose to have faith.  I also choose to set aside time to pray and praise, position myself to get counsel from the King!  One of the things I have done is pulled away from facebook for the month of July. Although I use it for ministry and encouraging others, it is also easy to get caught up in status updates, commenting, viewing others profiles and new pics....you know, fun stuff! :)  So it can prove to be a huge time waster (if I let it) and become a distraction.  So if you've sent me a friend request or I haven't responded to a comment, etc....I will get back to you in August :)

I have also been feeling the need to "steal away" for some alone time to write.    I have found a window!  :)  Next Wednesday I will be staying with a friend a few hours away, attending a conference that night, and the whole next day I hope to devote to seeking the heart of God (with my journal by my side!).  A weekend or more would be nice, but I'll take what I can get.  (And I'm so excited to see my friend, Emily! Yay!)  Maybe one day we can all meet for a writer's retreat!

The next week, we are taking a trip to Disneyworld with some friends.  We are super CRAZY excited!  Logan wakes up EVERY morning to ask..."How many more days???!!"  (Don't you remember as a child, the days seemed soooo long when you were waiting for something great?!) Although this is family time and quiet time will be rare, I am hoping to wake up a couple of hours before everyone and sneak down to the pool at our resort to spend some more quiet time.  Now that I actually think about it, the kids will probably be up at daylight raring to go!

So in a few short paragraphs...you now have a glimpse of my world for the next two weeks :)  Pray for me, and I will pray for you. I know we are all going through something, maybe similar or perhaps completely different.  Feel free to leave a prayer request or send me a private email if you prefer.

Let us continue pressing forward, excited to be a part of what God is doing on the earth!

Remember, His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts! (Isaiah 55:8).

And let us seek wisdom above all things!

Proverbs 4:7 (Amplified) The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful {and} godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).

Happy Wednesday!  Are you ready for YOU:create on Thursday?  :)

XO
Shelly

Wow. I will leave you with a lovely scriptures: Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand)."

You're at a good place. At least you know to seek Him and not wander around lol. I'm excited to hear about your journey, and how you journey. I spend lots of time at "what's next Lord?"

My mom always reminds me of Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven." Notice God said "time" for purpose, not a season. We may miss a season, so God doesn't deal with our purposes in that way. It's a nice reminder! Keep us updated Shelly! You have my prayers!
